The rules of the road

Terms & Conditions

What you can expect from BookTropics, what we expect from you, and exactly where our responsibility begins and ends.

Last updated: 22 July 2026

The short version. BookTropics is an information and comparison site. We don't sell travel, take payments or issue tickets. When you book, your contract is with the partner you book through — their terms apply. We earn a commission from partners, at no extra cost to you.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of booktropics.com (the "Site"), operated by [LEGAL COMPANY NAME] ("BookTropics", "we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.

2. What BookTropics is — and is not

BookTropics publishes travel guides, itineraries, comparisons and deal listings, and links you to third-party providers where you can complete a booking.

  • We are not a travel agency, tour operator, airline, hotel or car rental company.
  • We do not take payments, hold funds, issue tickets, confirmations or vouchers.
  • We do not act as agent for you or for any provider.

Every booking you make is a direct contract between you and the provider or booking platform concerned, governed by that company's own terms and conditions, cancellation rules and privacy policy. Please read them before you book.

3. Affiliate relationships and disclosure

Many links on this Site are affiliate links. If you click one and complete a booking, we may receive a commission from the provider. This never increases the price you pay. Commission does not determine our recommendations — we list options we consider genuinely good, including ones that earn us nothing.

4. Accuracy of information, prices and availability

We work hard to keep the Site accurate, but travel information changes constantly. Prices, availability, itineraries, ratings, opening times and inclusions shown here are indicative and may be out of date or incorrect.

  • Prices are shown in the currency stated and usually as a "from" price per person, excluding extras.
  • The final price, terms and availability are those shown by the provider at the moment you book.
  • Where a price or offer is obviously wrong, we are not obliged to honour it.

Always verify important details — dates, inclusions, cancellation rules — on the provider's site before paying.

5. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Provide accurate information and keep your password confidential.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or are used abusively.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page or by contacting us.

6. Acceptable use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • Copy, scrape, republish or resell our content, data or itineraries without written permission.
  • Use bots, crawlers or automated tools to harvest content or overload our servers.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its systems.
  • Upload malicious code, spam, or unlawful, abusive or misleading content.
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate anyone else.

7. Intellectual property

The BookTropics name, logo, design, written guides and itineraries are our property or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may read, share links to and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Everything else requires our written permission.

Photographs, logos and product descriptions belonging to partners remain the property of their owners and are used under the terms of the relevant partner programmes.

8. Third-party links and content

The Site links to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, products, services, availability, security or privacy practices. Visiting them is at your own risk.

9. Your travel responsibilities

You are responsible for making sure you can actually take the trip you book, including:

  • Valid passports, visas and entry permits for every country on your route.
  • Vaccinations and health requirements.
  • Adequate travel insurance — we strongly recommend it for every trip.
  • Checking government travel advice for your destination.
  • Meeting the provider's own requirements, such as minimum age, driving licence class or deposit rules for car hire.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Recommendations and itineraries are opinions and suggestions, not guarantees of any particular experience.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookTropics is not liable for:

  • Any act, omission, cancellation, delay, overbooking, injury, loss or damage caused by a provider or booking platform.
  • Loss arising from reliance on prices, availability or information shown on the Site.
  • Indirect or consequential loss, including lost enjoyment, lost profit or missed connections.
  • Interruption, error or unavailability of the Site.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

12. Complaints about a booking

Because your booking contract is with the provider, complaints, refunds, changes and cancellations must be raised directly with them. If you tell us about a poor experience, we will take it into account in our recommendations, and we're glad to point you to the right contact — but we cannot process refunds or amend bookings.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify BookTropics against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Site.

14. Changes to the Site and these terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site, and may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date shows the current version, and continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept them.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [COUNTRY / JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
